How to make a Ukulele
Goal: To make a ukulele.
What we need:
- Can of empty corn beef
- Piece of wood (wooden ruler)
- Nylon fishing line
- Screw eyes
- A hammer
- Small nail
- Felt-tip pen
- Scrap papers
Steps: Firstly, use the hammer and the nail to make three small holes on one side of the can.
Secondly, put the fishing line in each hole.
Next, hold the wood up against the side of the can and draw around the end of the wood with a felt-tip pen.
Ask the teacher to cut out the hole on the can.
Now, push the wood through the hole until it touches the other end of the can.
Screw one eye into the other side of the wood.
Pull the nylon into each line at the end of the wood and tie it to the screw eye.
Then draw lines on the wood as bars for chords and flowers to decorate your ukulele.
Finally, pluck and strum the strings and see if you can make a sound.
