What is HALF?

Using materials & authentic problems to help us learn about 'half'. 

A farmer has ____ cows and two paddocks. She wants to put one half of her cows into one paddock. How many cows will be in one paddock?

One-half of eight cows is four cows.

One-half of ten sheep is five sheep.

One-half of six goats is three goats.

At assembly on Friday last week, we presented this play to the whole school. We were trying to show everyone that learning is fun, there are so many ways of learning and one way is through a play. Video of our play is coming soon!! Watch out for that!

Safety - From Room 1

Constable Jude visited us for the second time, and she talked to us about being safe in a car. After a long talk in class we went out to the Police car for demonstrations.

We all went into the police car and she showed us how to buckle the seat belt and how to sit on a booster seat. It is more safe on a booster seat than sitting on the car seat with the seat belt on. We found out that at our age, we still need to sit on either a car seat or a booster seat until we are seven years old or until we are very tall.
