Te Whare Tapa Wha is a model designed to help us understand
well-being (hauora) either of ourselves or of others.
This model compares hauora (well being) to the four walls of a whare,
each wall representing a different dimension:
1. taha wairua (the spiritual side)
2. taha hinengaro (thoughts and feelings)
3. taha tinana (the physical side)
4. taha whanau (family).
All four dimensions are necessary for strength and well-being of a person.
